Istituto Giordano hosts RSG – the Recreational Craft Sectoral Group – in Rimini
(Pubbl. 11/05/2023)Today – Thursday 11 May – the 54th RSG Committee Meeting, technical table for the UE Directive 2013/53 (Recreational Boating) ends. Istituto Giordano as a Notified Body was on this occasion a RSG local host and it was represented by Eng. Thomas Busiello.
The RSG working group, that is made up of all notified bodies and other parts with an interest in this field, was set up in order to assist all parts in the uniform application and interpretation of the current version of the Recreational Boating Directive (RBD). In particular, this group includes Notified Bodies (NB), the European Commission (EU), representatives of the European nautical industry (ICOMIA), representatives of the national administrations (ADCO), representatives of standardization institutes (ISO) and consumers associations.
The working group meets twice a year, typically a spring section and an autumn section, with itinerant headquarters and hosted in turn, in european cities where the Notified Bodies are located.
The main objectives of the cooperation into RSG are to share experiences and exchange viewpoints about the application of the conformity evaluation procedures with the aim of contributing to a uniform understanding and application of requirements and procedures, developing opinions from the technical point of view on the application of the conformity evaluation procedures by researching consensus as well as advising the European Commission following its request on issues relating to the application of Directives.
