New ACCREDIA Mark: communication to clients holding accredited certifications.

Accredia has recently initiated a process to update its mark and the logo used by accredited bodies, also assigning a new “unique” accreditation number—meaning the same number applies to all accreditations held by a body with Accredia.

The new accreditation number assigned to Istituto Giordano is 00019, differentiated by accredited scheme, as shown in the following table:

On the website www.accredia.it, it is possible to download Regulation RG-09 rev. 12, which governs the introduction of the new mark and related numbering system.

As the final step in this update process, on January 30, 2025, the transitional period was officially launched. This period allows accredited Certification Bodies to make the necessary adjustments and update their documentation by September 30, 2025.

For this reason, Istituto Giordano informs its client organizations holding accredited certifications that it will adopt the new Accredia mark on certificates issued starting from the first applicable contractual update—i.e., during certification renewal or when certificate modifications are made. The new Accredia mark will be applied immediately in the case of a first contract or initial certificate issuance.

For certifications not subject to renewal, Istituto Giordano will apply the new mark at the first applicable certificate modification and, in any case, by December 2028.

For management system and product certifications, Istituto Giordano grants its client organizations using accredited services the right to use the Accredia mark, which must always be displayed together with the Istituto Giordano mark.

The Institute has taken this opportunity to draft a regulation detailing the rules for the correct use of its own mark, the Accredia mark, and, when applicable, the marks of any third-party bodies.

It is important to note that Accredia has set December 2028 as the final deadline for allowing client organizations holding accredited certifications to use the old Accredia mark. After this date, companies with accredited certifications will only be permitted to use the new Accredia mark.

Istituto Giordano therefore invites its client organizations holding accredited management system or product certifications—who currently use or wish to use the Accredia mark—to take this deadline into consideration and to replace the old Accredia mark with the new one as soon as it becomes available in the client's reserved area.
