Marine Equipment Directive

Directive 98/96/CE


The MED (2014/90/EU) came into being in December 1996 in order to harmonise between all EU Member States the conformity assessment procedures for equipment intended to be placed on board Community ships.
 
It applies to passenger and cargo ships falling within the scope of International Conventions - SOLAS.

VIEW THE LIST OF PRODUCTS THAT CAN BE CERTIFIED IN ACCORDANCE WITH DIRECTIVE 2014/90/EU (Marine Equipment Directive)
 
One or more of the following procedures must be implemented depending on the type of equipment requiring certification:

Module B: EU type-examination
Module D: Production-quality assurance
Module E: Product-quality assurance
Module F: Product verification
Module G: Unit verification
Module H: Full quality assurance
